Sodium Levulinate & Potassium Sorbate
Sodium Levulinate is a 100% natural ingredient derived from starch and vegetal inulin while Potassium sorbate is the potassium salt of the naturally occurring compound sorbic acid. In fact, sorbic acid is contained in the berries of the rowan tree (Sorbus aucuparia), a type of mountain ash known for its hardiness in cold weather.
Those two ingredients have great antimicrobial properties and when used together represent a very effective gentle preservative system which also has a skin conditioning effect.
